About me
Hi, I’m Ann Knight, a Natural Chef based in Surrey, with a deep passion for real, nourishing food that supports both body and mind.
My journey with food began in my late twenties, when I was first introduced to a healthier way of eating — a far cry from my usual dinner of ultra-processed turkey burgers! That shift changed everything. I discovered that eating whole foods as part of a balanced, nutrient dense diet had a profound impact on my long-term skin and gut issues. Then, fast forward a few years and my young son was diagnosed as gluten intolerant. This prompted me to want to understand, at a deeper level, how food could be used to support health and wellbeing.
That’s what led me to train as a Natural Chef at the College of Naturopathic Medicine (CNM). The course provided a strong foundation in nutrition-focused cooking, covering:
• The principles of whole-food, plant-based nutrition
• Cooking techniques to preserve nutrients and enhance digestion
• Meal planning for a variety of health needs and dietary preferences
• Knowledge of functional foods, food energetics, and natural health
• Recipe development with an emphasis on seasonal, sustainable ingredients
Since graduating, I’ve continued to deepen my knowledge; attending courses, researching and experimenting. It’s become a central part of my lifestyle, alongside exercise, managing sleep and stress.
I care about where my ingredients come from. Wherever possible, I source grains and flours from farmers using regenerative farming practices, which means the soil is nurtured, biodiversity is protected and the final product is more nutrient-dense. For me, it’s not just about what we eat — but how it’s grown and the impact it has on both our bodies and the planet.
Having spent many years working in the corporate world, I understand the reality of busy schedules and the constant balancing act of making healthy food choices. I know first-hand how difficult it can be to prioritise nutrition when time is short and I want to make that easier for others.
Food is a huge part of my life. I spend a lot of time thinking about it, creating it and, most importantly, enjoying it. I believe that how we feel after eating matters, just as much as what’s on the plate. Learning to notice how food affects your energy, mood, digestion and overall wellbeing is key — the ultimate goal is to feel your best, consistently, from the food you eat.
I don’t believe in restriction. I believe in balance, flavour and a way of eating that feels sustainable and satisfying. Yes, that includes treats — but they’re always part of a much bigger picture rooted in nourishment and a well-rounded approach to eating.
